Participating in my "Seven Truths About You Exercise" is perhaps a credible way to learn a lot about yourself, regardless of whether a truth about you is good or bad one. The exercise should provide you with an opportunity to carefully assess and then formulate a plan that mitigates your bad truths while continuing and/or even bettering the good ones. Keep in mind that this is a personal exercise so a requirement to share the information with others is at the discretion of the individual.

After conducting the exercise with 25 family and friends, I found it very interesting that approximately 20% of the group had more bad truths than good ones, so where will you fall in your assessment?

So, do me a favor and hit that play button and find out more about who you really are!

You can also catch me live at that same time by going to YouTube or going to www.youbetterplan on the podcast.butzprout.com and catch me at one of your favorite sites there. Also, do me a favor, hit that subscribe button because I got plenty more for you. Now with that said, let's go ahead on and jump right into the topic of the day. The topic of the day is called the Seven Truths. Again, the seven truths. But before we go into that, I want to touch on a little something. You know, uh everybody in life, each day that you get up or before you go to bed or however things work for you, everything is centered around having a plan. An effective daily plan, getting yourself from point A to point B and back home safely or to wherever you need to go safely as possible. Now, think about the type of person that you are. I mean, think carefully about who I am? What type of person am I? Am I strong? Am I weak? Am I somewhere in between? What do I like? What do I dislike? Why do I like or dislike something specific? Who are the type of people I hang around? Are they good people, bad people, somewhere in between? Are the majority of the people I hang around not so good? You know? Think about those things clearly and effectively. Now imagine this. You have situations that happen every day. Every human being that I know, and whether you believe this or not, you have bad people in your life that you have great, good to great relationships with. Now, people may look at you funny and go, I do not know how you can be friends with somebody who murdered someone, or someone who maimed someone, or someone who cheated on someone, or someone who beat up someone pretty badly. If you try to tell me or attempt to tell me, or whoever else you attempt to tell, that you don't have a single individual in your life that has done something bad. Maybe they told a lie. And nobody to this day knows that they told that lie, and somebody else took the fall for it. And here it is 20, 30 years later, and that same lie has caused a disconnect somewhere within your inner circle, whether it be family, friends, loved ones. I mean, that lie was just that chaotic that that person realized if they find out it's me, then oh my goodness, this may not go well. So they let someone else take the fall, and after they realize they take the fall, all these years later, nothing's ever been said. But you know what? You still have a great relationship with that person because you don't even know. You know, it's just that, you know, you've been able to move on, forgive again. Or you have that family member or that loved one or that friend. Maybe an altercation took place 30 plus years ago, and someone was killed in a fight. You mean that there's never going to be any forgiveness? It could have been unintentional. It could have been intentional, or whatever the case may be. That person has done time, but that person took the time out to send letters to the family of the deceased or the one that was severely injured. They took time to get their life together with Christ. So they took time to talk to the family and tell them they're sorry, be apologetic in a sincere way. Now they've gotten out, they're in a positive light, and they're moving on some 30 years later, and all is never forgotten, but everybody's moved on, and there's no longer a, you know, just negative vibe going on. However, that person that told that lie, that lie 30 years down the road, still has caused friction between certain family members, certain friends in your inner circle of life. You know, so is the good Lord just looking at both situations and going, well, this one was worse than that one, so I'm gonna have to punish this one more than I am that one. Is that what you're also going to do as the judge and jury? Because we do it so much, you know. Every one of us has a relationship with someone who's done something very bad. And if it's not very bad, they've done something bad that has caused chaos, has caused injury, has caused deception, and you know, and it's still chaos going on today. And that is natural and normal because there's just situations where I have family members who have been involved in murder situations years and years ago. They were in their 20s, now they're mighties, the 50s and 60s, and things have changed. They have completely flipped all the way around, and life has been nothing but a blessing. People have moved on, families have become friendly with the situation because they know sometimes you have to let go and let God. And then you have that other individual that you have that great relationship with that told that lie. And it caused other people to throw hands or to get into altercations, or they haven't trusted each other for 30 plus years, and you know the situation, and you've never said anything to this day. You have a relationship with those people, and maybe you know the situation, and you've never even said anything. So I'm here to tell you, you know, everybody's different, everybody does things in a different light, and things happen for a reason, as crazy as may be, you know, we tend to take a look at situations and we judge, don't care who you are. You will prejudge or you will judge a situation based on how it goes down. So I'm here to tell you, it, you know, we all fall short when it comes to certain individuals that are present in our lives that we have a great, good to great relationship with. And people look at you funny and go, I have no idea how you can have a relationship with somebody who murdered someone, or someone who just lied so badly that it caused a husband and wife to divorce or or to something bad to happen, you know, domestic violence or whatever. But I'm here to tell you, you know, things can change at any given moment. Life was meant to be planned and planned again. So, you know, that person that's deciding he's he or she's gonna do something bad, they chances are they planned it. Very seldom does something happen that is unplanned when it involves your anger and making a decision to hurt someone, or lie to someone, or cause some kind of situation to take place. You know, so we have to think about things. Be fresh in your thoughts every day. Think about who you are, why you're here, and what you're here for. What is your presence in life on this earth? What did God put you here for? And in some of those situations, things have gone from good to bad to worse, and situations have occurred that have been really volatile. But you know what? Again, things can change. So let me take you down the road to an exercise or an activity that I want every one of us to try. Everyone. Now, the topic of the day is the seven truths about you. The seven truths about you. Whether you're driving or you're at home or wherever you are, I want you to think carefully about the seven primary truths as in true statements that represent you, your character. Seven true things. I mean the seven truest things about you, whether they're good or bad. If you're a liar, a drinker, a drug dealer, you're a helper, a leader, a follower, whatever the case may be, I want you to note seven true things about yourself. Once you've done that, first I want you to think about it first. And once you've done that, I want you to put it on paper or type it into your phone, those seven true things about you. I mean the seven truest things, in no particular order, but the things that you know to be the seven truest things about you, the individual. I'm gonna do the same thing. Now, after you've done that, I want you to separate what you believe are the good truths from the bad ones. So let's say you got four of one and three of the other, or five of one and two of the other, it doesn't matter. I just want you to separate them. Then I want you to take a look at those things that you wrote about yourself and measure them one by one. But I want you to at this point, I want you to put them in order from number one to number seven, with number one being the worst, all the way down to the least, to the best of your ability. You know yourself better than anyone, and so you know you're capable of doing this. Now I want you to take a look at those seven that you measured from one all the way to seven, worst to least, and and ask yourself, wow, is this really who I am? And then I want you to take the opportunity to maybe put some put some space in between them and write down a small paragraph. If it is a bad truth about you, write down a small, just write the statement down. I'm going to do everything in my power to change this particular truth by doing what? Again? I'm going to do everything in my power to change this particular truth by doing what? If it's one of the bad truths, if it is a good truth, I'm going to do everything in my power to continue to do this by doing what? Again, I'm going to do everything in my power regarding this particular truth by continuing to do this by doing what. Once you have done that, I want you to go back and just go from number one down to number seven and think clearly and effectively about wow, especially when they are bad things and you didn't maybe you didn't realize just how bad it is. Now you have a target list to work on. More specifically, the bad situations that you have written down. And I can tell you, there are going to be those of you who have bad that outweigh good. There's going to be a whole lot of people in that category, and you didn't realize it. I mean, this is an exercise that you really, I really I really want you to think about, and then I really want you to do. Hold on to what I told you. Record this, write this down, whatever you need to do. Go back and review this. And I would love to get your feedback. I don't want to know specifically your truths, especially your bad ones, unless you decide you want to publicize it. I'd rather you say, you know, I took a look at some things I do and I realize that my bad outweighs my good truths. And I really need to do certain things to remedy myself. And if you want to give one example, just people not gonna, you know, throw the hammer at you. People just do things anyway. But I'm telling you, I think this will really, no, I I'll take that word back. Think I believe this will really help you narrow things down to, hey, I never thought about doing something like this to see where I'm at and who I really am, but I know I have an idea of how to mitigate this situation that affects me. If you are a very bad drinker, a very bad liar, if you are someone who does a lot of drugs, maybe you're just someone who smokes a whole lot of weed, and you know, and you do it so much that it is a habit that you find too hard to break. Take a look at these things that you jotted down about you and think about man, what can I do to be better than I've ever been before? You know, ask yourself, would this be a situation that's pleasing to most people? But more than anything else, ask yourself, is this a situation that would be pleasing to God Almighty Himself? And if it's not, or you have a situation where you know you had you you've done it, but you hadn't thought enough about it, but you know and you learn and think to yourself, wow, this has really affected my family, and I never considered enough about it just because I'm doing what I want to do the way I want to do it, when I want to do it, how I want to do it. We all fall short of so many things, but I'm telling you, the seven truth is a great exercise. I want you to think about seven things, the truest things about you. You jot them down. Once you have jotted them down, now you can say, What can I do to remedy this situation here? And then on the other side, what can I do to continue to do this and even go beyond doing it better? You know, and get others involved. For those of you tuning in or listening in or whatever, get others involved and say, hey, here's a great exercise. I think you should try. So I'm going to push this to people in my family and in my inner circle of friends as well, because I think it's very important to do something like this. Because, I mean, how many people ever actually take the time to think about it, put it on paper, and then put some words out to it to determine what you're going to do, how you're going to go about remedying your situation, or making it even better than what you do already. This is in good fashion. And I tell you, it can change lives in a way that will make you proud of yourself, make you proud of others. You will see the changes in people, you'll see the changes in yourself. I guarantee you, it is a remedy for success. I believe it. And if you try it, I guarantee you it you will be successful in your doing. So, with that said, thank you for your time. I always appreciate you tuning in and listening in.
